Mark is a Junior Research Scholar at ILINA and a Research Fellow at the Centre for AI Risk Management and Alignment (CARMA). At ILINA, his current research focuses on the role of law and policy in strengthening model evaluations while at CARMA, he is working with Abra Ganz to map AI whistleblowing channels and legal protections in the U.S., U.K. and EU. He has previously conducted research on how evaluations could address context-specific risks from the deployment of advanced AI systems in clinical medicine across Africa. He is also interested in AI safety cases as a method for justifying the safety of highly capable foundation models. Mark holds an undergraduate law degree (top student, first class honors) from Strathmore University.
