Mark is a Junior Research Scholar at ILINA and a Research Assistant at the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative. His current research focuses on the role of law and policy in strengthening model evaluations. He has previously conducted research on how evaluations could address context-specific risks from the deployment of advanced AI systems in clinical medicine across Africa. He is also interested in AI safety cases as a method for justifying the safety of highly capable foundation models. He holds an undergraduate law degree (first class honors) from Strathmore University.
